KUKA KMR iisy-2 – Mobile Robot with Integrated Cobot
KUKA KMR iisy-2 is a mobile robot system that combines an autonomous mobile platform with an LBR iisy robot. The system is designed to transport workpieces, devices and other objects to their place of use while the robot performs handling tasks with the transported objects.
Combination of Mobile Platform and LBR iisy Robot
The KMR iisy-2 consists of two main components: the mobile platform and the LBR iisy robot. The mobile platform moves between different workstations, while the robot can independently pick up and set down the transported objects.
During movement, the robot remains in a defined parking position. Once the system reaches the required workstation, the robot can perform the tasks defined for the application.
Mobile Platform Payload of up to 200 kg
The KMR iisy-2 mobile platform has a rated payload of 200 kg. This is the payload of the transport platform and not the payload of the LBR iisy robot. Depending on the configuration, the LBR iisy robot has a payload of 11 kg or 15 kg.
Differential Drive for Flexible Mobility
The KMR iisy-2 uses differential drive technology. The mobile platform can move longitudinally, travel along curves and rotate around its own center axis.
The differential drive combined with the compact dimensions allows the KMR iisy-2 to navigate precisely, including in confined spaces.
Autonomous Navigation and Environment Monitoring
During movement, the environment around the mobile platform is monitored by integrated laser scanners. The KMR iisy-2 supports both autonomous operation and manual operation using a hand-held control unit.
No External Energy Supply System Required
The KMR iisy-2 operates without an external energy supply system. The mobile platform and the robot are independently supplied with power by the drive battery.
The system provides a maximum operating time of up to 8 hours.

Designed for Production Environments
The KMR iisy-2 has an IP54 protection rating according to IEC 60529. The mobile platform is designed for operation on firm, level floors within the specified permissible inclination.
The specified ambient operating temperature is 10 °C to 40 °C with air humidity from 5 % to 85 %. The storage and transport temperature range is -20 °C to 50 °C.
